All
Automotive classes are designed with the intent of helping students familiarize
themselves with real world working demands and requirements. Punctuality and
treatment of fellow students (co-workers), respecting public, private and
personal property are very important parts of the Automotive program. These are just as important if not more, than
the technical knowledge and skills required to perform your daily work task.
STUDENT EXPECTIONS:
Be on time
Be ready to learn when you arrive. Have classroom
tools ready to go (pencil, paper, etc.)
Respect others’ feelings and circumstances (put
yourself in their shoes)
Be a problem solver
BE SELF MOTIVATED
Have a POSITIVE ATTITUDE (attitudes are contagious!
Is yours worth catching?)
Be Honest
Have a Notebook or notebook section for All
Auto Papers and PENCIL AND PEN
*Failure to fulfill these expectations and course
requirements below can lead to a parent conference, class dismissal or both!
Introduction to basic hand tools and fasteners.
Shop equipment and Safe usage
Measuring and the various tools to use.
Electricity, lighting and circuit testing
Maintenance approach to entire
vehicle and its systems.
Participate in clean up and shop
maintenance activities.
Physics and its affects on automobile design are
emphasized.
Math is highly utilized and
practiced – ratios, percentages-
basic
computation (you can handle it)!
Have a notebook every day.
Have classroom tools in your notebook- Pencils, Pens, Papers (calculator is strongly recommended!)
Safety Glasses (brought from home
or purchased at school)
Coveralls are strongly suggested.

20% Notebook We use PENCILS for assignments and PENS to correct papers.
35% Shop assignments *These percentages are approximate and returning the signature sheet is your first assignment.
