Constructing Data Tables
Your data table should:
· communicate the relationship between the manipulated and responding variables.
· communicate the order in which the manipulated variable was changed.
How to construct a data table:
· Make a table containing vertical columns for the manipulated variable, responding variable, and derived quantity (the average).
· The manipulated variable column is first, responding variable second, and derived quantity last.
· Subdivide the column for the responding variable to reflect the number of trials.
· Make a row for each level of the manipulated variable.
· Order the levels of the manipulated variable from the smallest to the largest.
· Head each column with the measurement made and the units.

Sometimes more than one data table is necessary.
