Behavior/Participation Points Make-up Requirements:
1. Perform a 55 minute (or time length of the class period) long, supervised learning activity*. The activity needs to be about the topic covered that day in class.
2. Create a physical artifact from the learning activity. Examples include but are not limited to: the assignment that was done that day in class (usually the case), a summary paper on the topic (1 page long), create a picture that represents the topic, create 3 levels of questions and answers on the topic, or a model of the topic, etc.
3. Write a brief summary of what you did for the activity and what you learned from the activity.
4. Have the supervisor verify the activity by signing the summary. NOTE: If the teacher is not the supervisor the activity must still be verified, by the teacher, as a legitimate behavior points make up.
5. Submit the physical artifact and signed summary to the teacher within the number of days of the absence plus one to be reimbursed of the class points. NOTE: If the points are not made up within that time frame or do not follow the requirements listed, the points are lost.
*Learning activities may
include but are not limited to: doing
the assignment, researching the topic on line, CD Rom, text book, etc.
interviewing a professional, study time with a classmate, or spending time
after school with the teacher.
