GUIDELINES AND EXPECTATIONS

Supply List:

- a 2-inch three-ring binder to hold the student book, lined paper, graph paper, and current homework

- one calculator

- regular #2 pencils – work in ink will not be accepted

- at least one red pen for correcting

- 1 ream of computer/printer paper

Students are expected to be in class in their seats when the tardy bell rings. Attendance is crucial, as most of the instruction and learning will occur during class. It is essential that students attend class daily and are prompt. Much of the learning will take place within small group interaction and class instruction. If the student misses the class and/or doesn’t participate in the learning process (do the work), it will be difficult to make up the work and/or learn the concepts and skills necessary to succeed in this class. Please try to schedule appointments outside of the school day.

If is highly recommended that students keep up with the current work. If a student falls behind it is difficult to catch up. The more the student misses, the more difficult it is to catch up.

Students should come to class prepared every day. This includes the following:

- paper

- pencil (work in ink will not be accepted)

- completed homework

- book

Students are expected to:

- be in class regularly (fewer than 10 absences per semester)

- work to the best of their ability on a daily basis

- behave appropriately

- use class time wisely

- respect others and their property

Food, candy, and/or drink are not allowed in the classroom (plain bottled WATER is acceptable as long as the top can be capped. No headphones or cell phones at any time

GRADING

Grades are determined as follows:

- 15% of grade is based on participation and performance

- 35% of grade is based on daily work

- 50% of grade is based on tests and quizzes
