Freshman Integrated Academy Program

This year, Prairie High School is proud to announce an exciting new academy program available to incoming 9th grade students.  Students in this program will be scheduled with three common teachers (English I, IEPS, and Algebra I) in the morning block (periods 1, 2 and 3).  The academy will feature a strong, linked curriculum in which math, science, and English are all taught in thematic units.  For example, students might design roller coasters that utilize Newton’s 3 Laws of Physics using mathematical formulas to calculate kinetic energy and write blog posts describing the project. The block schedule allows for more flexible learning opportunities for students.  To qualify for this pilot program please review the criteria below and complete the Interest Survey.
