Things To Do In The 11th Grade

 For All Students-

Continue to take care of your grades-- Use family access to check your grades regularly
and use your Falcon Planner to keep track of daily assignments and responsibilities.
Review the tips on the "Helping Your Student Succeed" section of the PHS Counseling
 web site.

Revise your H.S. and Beyond plan-- Study the PHS Planning Guide so that you consider
classes you want to take in the senior year so you meet all high school and college
entrance requirements (if appropriate).  This also allows you to prepare for your
 eventual career.

Consider taking the ASVAB-- Information about the test can be found in the "Testing"
link on the PHS Counseling Web Site.  To register, please go the the career center.

For Students Planning To Attend College-

Take the PSAT test in October-- Registration information will be available in the
 Counseling Center in late September.

Take an SAT and an ACT in the spring--  You can find information for each test on the
"Testing" link on the PHS Counseling Web Site.

Check the requirements for attending 4-year colleges-- Review the link "Choosing And
Applying For College" on the PHS Counseling Web Site.

Consider visiting colleges in the spring while they are in session.  Each college has their
own visitation process-- please see the web site of your intended college for information.

Review the "Financial Aid/Scholarship" link on the PHS Counseling Web Site.  You may
want to prepare your scholarship portfolio in the spring to prepare for applying for
scholarships at the beginning of the senior year.  If you want to get an estimate of
how much financial aid you may qualify for, visit
www.fafsa4caster.ed.gov

Plan for your Activity Sheet-- Continue doing things such as participation in clubs and
sports, serving in leadership positions, community service, and enrichment activities such
as classes and summer experiences.  Keep track of these and the honors/awards you
 earn as well.
