Biography |
I
grew up in the Pacific Northwest by
Issaquah, Washington on the shores
of Lake Sammamish. Outside of school
I enjoy being outdoors kayaking and
climbing, which I have been doing
for the past 34 years. I also create
sculptures using driftwood and you
are more than welcome to go to my
site at:
www.drifting-images.com
“Thunder on the Prairie” is a piece
I created in June of ’03 and is
displayed in the PHS library. |
|
Education |
I
graduated from The Evergreen State
College with a B.A. and received my
Special Education Teaching Degree
from Western Washington University.
My Master of Education with a
counseling endorsement was obtained
from the University of Portland.
|
|
Professional History |
I
taught special education for
fourteen years in the areas of
severely profoundly disordered,
learning disabled and was a behavior
disordered specialist. I have been
counseling for the past twelve
years, eight at Prairie High. |
|
Philosophy |
I
feel my job as an educator is the
most important job that there is
anywhere. Education deals with the
future of our community and nation.
Failing to prepare my students for
the future as productive citizens is
to not only fail my students but the
nation itself. I bring a passion to
my job and enjoy it immensely. |
