Graduation Requirements for a Diploma

 

In order to graduate from Battle Ground School District, students must meet standards on the 10th grade Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) in reading, writing and math. Science will be added in 2010.

 

Students will also complete a Culminating Project and an Annual High School and Beyond Plan.

 

Students must earn 22 credits total and meet the required credits by subject area:

 

English      4.0            Math                 2.0            Science      2.0

Social St    2.5            Health/Fitness    2.0            Occupation 1.0

Fine Art     1.0            Electives            7.5

 

Year long classes = 1.0 full credit; semester classes = .5 credit

 

College Entrance Requirements

 

English              4.0 credits with at least 3 of which must be in composition and literature.

 

Math                 3.0 credits including Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2

 

Social Studies     3.0 credits (World History in the 10th grade is recommended)

 

Science              2.0 credits One full year of Biology, Chemistry or Physics

 

World Lang         2.0 credits in the same language

 

Fine Art             1.0 (Check individual college/university admission requirements)
