Youth Suicide Prevention Program
|
|
The Youth Suicide Prevention Program is made up of a group of students who get trained in the 1st semester and then make presentations in classrooms of interested teachers. Training takes place once a year with Mary Jadwisiak, the Youth Suicide Prevention Field Coordinator for our area. Only those students who are trained can participate in the classroom presentations. Students present suicide facts, perform role-playing scenarios, and go into how to access needed help for students who are at risk. Students are trained to seek help and not do any counseling if they become aware of any student who is suicidal. Students who are interested in learning more about the program or to be included in the training process should contact Mr. Jones in the counseling center. 360-885-5002 jones.richard@bgsd.k12.wa.us
