Prairie High School Choirs Course Descriptions 2008-2009

 Courses Offered:

o Choirs will be offered according to projected enrollment numbers for the following year:

o Choirs offered for the 20108-2009 School year:

 Symphonic Chorale:  Women’s Ensemble singing multipart sacred and secular works of collegiate difficulty. Audition and director approval necessary for enrollment.

 117^th Vocal Jazz:  Mixed ensemble who will work with a rhythm section (piano, bass, drum, guitar) travels frequently.  Audition and director approval necessary for enrollment.

 Concert Choir: Open Enrollment

o Other Ensembles that may be offered.

 Crimson Show Choir:  Treble Advanced Ensemble. Audition and director approval necessary for enrollment.

 Chanteuse:  Treble Beginning Ensemble.  Audition and director approval necessary for enrollment.

 Bass Proximity:  Men’s ensemble focusing on the music of the doo-wop and collegiate accapela genre.  Audition and director approval necessary for enrollment.
