Running Start

Running Start is a program in which high school juniors and seniors

take courses at Clark College as a part of their high school program.

Successful completion of college level courses (numbered 100 and

above) yields college credit and can also be used to satisfy high school

requirements.  *Subject to limitations noted in the "About Running

 Start" powerpoint.

The links at the right describe procedures, policies, and tips for

successful participation in the program.  Students and parents are asked

to review all information before contacting the PHS Counseling Center.

Running Start information nights are offered in January at Clark

College for anyone interested in participating. After a student passes the

Compass test, he/she and a parent/guardian will need to attend a mandatory

orientation at Clark College and also one at Prairie High School before

forecasting for classes.

After reviewing all information in this site, student and/or parents can

contact their counselor with Running Start questions.  This should be done

before school, after school, during STAT or via e-mail.
